Commonwealth Games returns to Australia through live broadcasts from Delhi at “Fan Sites” around the country
After the phenomenal success of the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, where enormous numbers of people not only attended the various events but also watched the coverage live at Federation Square, the Games will return to Australia this year – through the magic of television. The entire event will be broadcast at three “Fan Sites” around Australia for the thousands upon thousands of sports fans who like to follow the running, jumping, swimming and shooting in the atmosphere of a stadium-like environment.
With giant LED video screens in Melbourne and Sydney, fans will be able to catch all the action of the nineteenth games, direct from India, throughout the entire twelve days, from the start of the Opening Ceremony, right until the lights go off in Delhi at the end of what is sure to be an event as exciting, if not more so, that four years ago in Melbourne. The Australian team had a record haul of medals then, and will be looking to extend that record further this year – to the delight of what will potentially be millions of fans!
